What an incredible month for the San Diego skate community! The energy here is all about celebrating our legends and paving the way for new adventures. The entire city seemed to smile as we celebrated the 80th birthday of Pacific Beach’s iconic rollerblading legend, Slomo. His daily, meditative cruises are a true San Diego institution, and seeing the community honor him was pure joy.
On the derby track, we saw a bittersweet moment of transition. The fierce skaters of Slam Diego Roller Derby held their inaugural home team bout, which also marked the final event at Ringer’s Roller Rink. While it’s the end of an era for that venue, we’re sending all our best to the league as they search for a new home! This spirit of discovery is what keeps our scene fresh, and speaking of fresh pavement, our own Let’s Roll community has just uncovered an amazing new spot to explore this June: Broadway Marina!

“Entrance is a little bumpy so be careful. 10/10 spot, tons of space and the concrete is like butter. Bring a speaker and some friends to practice jam skating”
