What a month it’s been, San Diego! As we roll into May, the energy in our skate community is absolutely electric. The biggest story, and one that truly captures the soul of skating in this city, was the 80th birthday celebration for local icon John Kitchin, better known as Slomo. Seeing the Pacific Beach community rally around him, skating the boardwalk in his signature style, was a powerful reminder of the joy and longevity skating brings to our lives. It’s a vibe of pure stoke and togetherness that we see reflected in the incredible activity from our Let’s Roll users.
This community spirit is fueling an explosion of discovery across the county. Just look at the map! This past month, you all added an unbelievable 42 skate spots to the app, turning San Diego into a treasure trove of bowls, parks, and smooth pavement. From community-organized meetups like the one hosted by BABESNBOARDS to the daily sessions lighting up our feed, it’s clear that San Diego is the place to be on eight wheels. Let’s keep that momentum going all through May!
