Get ready to lace up, Sacramento, because summer skating is officially in full swing! The absolute biggest news is the triumphant return of the Downtown Sacramento Roller Rink, which is set to open and transform Ali Youssefi Square into the vibrant, music-filled skate plaza we love all season long. This is the centerpiece of Sactown summer skating, and we can’t wait to see you all there.
While our own Let’s Roll app was quiet on new discoveries this month, the city’s established scene was anything but! The rink was the place to be, with Sunrise Rollerland hosting an awesome all-ages Skate Night and a groovy session with DJ New Era. For those who love a little more action, the incredible athletes of the Sacramento Roller Derby brought the heat with their massive ‘June BOOM! Triple Header’ event. It’s clear that even when we’re not logging new spots, the heart of the Sacramento skate community is beating strong!
