What’s up, Phoenix skaters! As we glide out of a festive December and into a fresh new year, the Valley’s skate scene is absolutely lit with opportunities to get your roll on. While our community-powered app was a bit quiet on new spot discoveries this month (you were all busy enjoying the holidays, we get it!), the city’s event calendar more than made up for it. The place to be is Great Skate in Glendale, which is hosting an incredible Winter Break Skate Schedule, a magical Christmas Eve Extravaganza, and multiple ways to celebrate 2026 on wheels, including a fantastic New Year’s Eve Family Skate.
If your New Year’s resolution is to try something bold and new, you are in luck! This is the perfect time to dip your toe into the world of derby with a Roller Derby New Skater Orientation. And for a super welcoming, community-focused vibe, you can’t miss the “Twixmas” ALL skate, an open gender event for all skill levels. Let’s get out there and make some memories to kick off January!
