Philly skaters, it’s time to break out the sunblock because the outdoor season is officially in full swing! May was an incredible month for the scene, with our Let’s Roll app users lighting up the map. We saw skaters hitting up both the iconic, newly-opened seasonal rinks and carving out their own spaces at local parking lots, proving that the Philly spirit is all about finding your flow, wherever you can.
The big story, of course, is the triumphant return of the city’s beloved outdoor rinks. The buzz is undeniable around the Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink at Dilworth Park, which is back with a stunning new overhead art installation of multi-colored ribbons floating above the checkerboard floor. It’s the perfect backdrop for your summer skate sessions. Alongside the action at Rothman, skaters have also been flocking to the Independence Blue Cross RiverRink, making it clear that Philly is THE place to be for outdoor rolling this June.
