Hey Minneapolis, let’s roll through some big news this month! We have to start with a bittersweet farewell. The beloved Uptown roller rink will close in October, a huge loss for the community. Twin Cities Skaters is hosting one last hurrah with their Final Rollerskate Lessons Sunday on October 5th, so be sure to get one last glide in at this iconic spot. It’s tough to see a home rink close, but the heart of the Minneapolis skate scene is its people, and we are not slowing down!
As one door closes, the season of spooky skates and thrilling competition bursts open! The energy is shifting towards some incredible upcoming events. We’re talking about everything from the Goth Skate Autumn Gathering to a massive Halloween Skate Party 2025 with cash prizes. And for all you derby fans, get ready to scream your heads off, because the Minnesota Roller Derby's 22nd season kicks off with ‘A Terror of Two Cities’ on October 18th. It’s proof that even when things change, our community finds new ways to come together and keep the good times rolling.
Skaters on the Rise
We didn’t see any new skater profiles get added via the app in October, but we know you’re out there perfecting your moves! Give a follow to a local skater you admire and get inspired for your next session.
