What a month for skating in the Motor City! August was lit up by some incredible outdoor events, and the energy is perfect for rolling right into September. While the Let’s Roll app was a little quiet on the discovery front (let’s change that, Detroit!), the city’s scene was anything but. The absolute highlight was the Rollin' on the River with Motown Roller Club, which brought skaters of all levels to the beautiful Robert C. Valade Park for free lessons and group skates along the riverfront. It’s events like this that truly showcase the spirit of our community!
Beyond the river, the scene was buzzing with classic rink sessions like the Tuesday Night Adult Skate at the legendary RollerCade, proving that a smooth wood floor and good tunes never go out of style. There was even action on the aggressive side, with a vert demo from the National Inline Skate Series hitting Modern Skate.
