What an incredible time to be a skater in Detroit! As we roll into September, the energy from August is absolutely electric. While our own Let’s Roll community has been busy discovering and mapping out local spots like the aptly named ‘great skate’, the entire city scene is buzzing with major news. The biggest development is the fantastic new partnership for Roller Skate Detroit to support their move to a new facility and sponsor a Skate Cypher event. This is a massive win for the community, promising even more amazing spaces and events for all of us.
This growth is built on the foundation of a jam-packed August. The city was alive with opportunities to lace up, from the awesome Rollin' on the River with Motown Roller Club to a whole series of events at Next Level, including an Afro Nation showcase and multiple free skate days. The vibe is clear: Detroit’s skate scene is thriving, growing, and has something for everyone.
