Atlanta's Skate Scene Rallies for September: Honoring a Legacy and Rolling Forward

What a month it’s been, Atlanta. Our hearts are with the whole community as we say a heartfelt goodbye to a true institution. After more than 40 years of memories, the legendary Skate Along USA in Gwinnett officially closed its doors in August, and we’re all feeling the weight of that loss. But if there’s one thing we know about ATL, it’s that our skate culture is resilient, deep-rooted, and always, always finds a way to roll on.

This is a moment of change, but it’s also a moment of strength. We see incredible culture-keepers like choreographer Kamille Gilmore working to preserve the city's unique skate style, and we see the community’s passion spilling into new spaces, with more skaters taking the vibe outdoors to the Beltline and beyond. While we honor the past, we’re lacing up for the future. The soul of Atlanta skating isn’t in one building; it’s in every single one of us. Let’s roll into September with purpose and keep this beautiful scene thriving.
