What a month it’s been, Atlanta! Our hearts go out to the entire community with the bittersweet news of Skate Along USA closing after four incredible decades. It’s a huge loss, but the ATL skate spirit is unbreakable. This moment highlights a powerful shift we’re seeing: more and more skaters are taking their passion outdoors, hitting spots like the Beltline and keeping the scene vibrant and visible in our city streets.
This resilience is what Atlanta is all about! We’re seeing amazing leaders like choreographer Kamille Gilmore working to preserve our unique skate culture, and schools like Skates’ Out celebrating 17 years of teaching new skaters. As we roll into September, let’s carry that energy forward, especially with massive events like the 6th Annual International Sk8 Xscape on the horizon. The rinks may change, but the roll never stops in ATL!
