Atlanta Skate Report for July: A New Rooftop Rink Changes the Game
What’s up, Atlanta skaters! The summer heat has arrived, and the skate scene is absolutely sizzling right along with it. While our app’s community discoveries were a bit quiet this past month, the entire city is buzzing with some major news. The biggest story is the grand opening of SK8 THE ROOF, a brand new, 3,000-square-foot covered outdoor rink right on top of Ponce City Market. This is a game-changer for summer sessions, offering incredible views and a one-of-a-kind experience for skaters of all ages.
This exciting new venue perfectly complements the growing trend of outdoor skating that’s taking over the city. As GPB News recently highlighted, more and more of us are hitting spots like the Beltline and local parks, reclaiming the streets and soaking up the sun on our wheels. It all speaks to the incredible heart of Atlanta’s skate culture, a tradition being kept alive by passionate skaters and choreographers like Kamille Gilmore, who is ensuring the legacy thrives. The energy from massive June events like Peach Roll 2025 is carrying us into a summer that’s already proving to be legendary. Let’s get out there and roll!

No new user-submitted events were added in June, but the city calendar is still on fire. The summer-long sessions at SK8 THE ROOF are the main attraction right now. Don’t forget to add your own local meetups and skate parties to the app to get the word out!
