As an avid roller skater with flat feet, I got fed up with the manufactured skates I was forced to buy, that always seemed to hurt my feet and give me blisters. I never understood why roller skate manufacturers insist on providing a hard boot. Quad roller skates do not require the same ankle support that is required with ice skates or inline skates. About 25 years ago, I decided to start making my own custom skates, and have been only skating in these since (my current skates have about 20,000 miles on them). No more do I worry about foot pain or blisters. For the past 15 years, I have been making and selling custom skates. I like to use mostly high tops from manufacturers like Nike, Puma, Vans and Fila.
