Light Up Amager Strandpark

On Monday, April 14th, the light rolls into Amager Strandpark in the form of a bunch of happy roller skaters wearing light-up wheels and other lights, marking the return to the Strandpark after the dark winter and the opening of this year’s skating season out here.

The event departs from Bunker 5 at 8:30 PM, shortly after sunset, and we’ll move calmly along the promenade and path down to Bunker 1, where Vesterbro Roller Skating Club will offer a soda before we head back toward Bunker 5 again.

The focus is on roller skates and lights. Both are required to participate in the event—no other wheeled types are allowed, including bicycles, skateboards, and scooters. Light-up wheels are preferred for the event, but if you don’t have them, other lights are also an option. Helmets and protective gear are not required but recommended.

There will be members from Vesterbro Roller Skating Club skating around the area between Bunker 3 and 5 from 7:00 PM, in case anyone wants some extra skate time that day.
