Sydney Skating in April: Farewell Penrith, Hello Roller Derby & New Community Hotspots
What a momentous month for the Sydney skate scene. We’re all feeling the bittersweet end of an era with the closure of our last dedicated rink, Penrith Skatel, which held its farewell disco in late March. It’s a huge loss, but if there’s one thing we know about Sydney skaters, it’s that our spirit is unstoppable!
This isn’t an ending, but a new beginning. It’s a chance for us to strengthen our outdoor and community-led scene. We’re already seeing this happen, with amazing opportunities to connect like the recent Sydney Roller Derby Come and Try Day and new skaters joining us on the Let’s Roll app every day. This month is all about rediscovering our city on eight wheels and proving that the heart of our community rolls on, stronger than ever.
Welcome Our Newest Sydney Skaters!
Let’s give a massive Let’s Roll welcome to the newest skaters on the Sydney scene! A huge shoutout to **rollwithshannen** and **glitterwheelz** for joining our community. It’s awesome to see more skaters connecting through the app. Give them a follow and show them some love on their next session!
Sydney is Rolling! Check Out These Sessions
The proof is in the pavement! We love seeing new skate sessions being logged on the app. Each one is a sign that our community is staying active, exploring the city, and keeping the passion for skating alive. Keep logging your rolls—big or small—to inspire everyone else to get out there!
