Happy New Year, Let’s Roll family!
We hope you’ve managed to catch some fresh air and find some smooth pavement under your wheels to kick off January. Whether you are working on your jam skating flow, crushing distance records, or just cruising with friends, we are stoked to roll into 2026 with you.
We believe in building this roller skating community with you, which means being open about where we are, what we’ve built, and where we’re heading. So, let’s switch things up with a little “State of the Skate” update.
Behind the Scenes: The Hustle is Real 🛠️
First off, how are we doing? Generally speaking—we’re great! But let’s be real: like many of you, the team has been juggling a lot. Between day jobs, families, and the hustle of everyday life, keeping up with app development is a labor of love. We are a passionate team, but a small one!
You might have noticed a few hiccups or moments of downtime recently. We’ve been moving to a new hosting setup to ensure your skate tracking data stays safe and accessible. We are currently hunting for a “forever home” for the app’s infrastructure—a solution that is sustainable for the long run.
Because Let’s Roll doesn’t have major corporate backing or intrusive ads, we rely on you. This is the perfect moment to remind everyone that our Supporter Subscription is the engine that keeps us moving.
Want to help keep the servers running? If you love tracking your stats, finding new skate spots, and connecting with the crew, please consider subscribing. It’s the single best way to support the app’s existence and ensures we can keep this platform independent and focused on skaters, not shareholders.
Feature Drop: “Hey, I see you!” 👋
Despite the busy schedule, we have been cooking up some exciting stuff in the dev kitchen. We are thrilled to announce two major improvements live in the app right now!
1. Direct Mentions are Here!
Gone are the days of describing who you skated with in the comments. You can now tag skaters directly in your posts and session logs!
- Give a shoutout to a friend who nailed a new trick.
- Credit a local for showing you a hidden skate spot.
- Make sure your crew sees your latest session.
Just tag them, and they’ll get the notification. It makes our social skating network feel a whole lot more connected.
2. We’re Going Global (Wide Web) 🌐
We have officially finished the development of web-based versions for much of the app’s content!
While the mobile app is still your go-to for GPS skate tracking, this update means that Profiles, Events, Skate Spots, and Activities now have their own dedicated web links.
Why is this a game-changer? Sharing power. It has never been easier to take what you’re doing on Let’s Roll and share it with the wider world.
- Drop a link to a Skate Event into a Facebook Group.
- Share a killer route or spot on a Reddit thread.
- Send your Profile stats to your local WhatsApp community.
Help Us Grow the Tribe 🚀
This brings us to our request for 2026: Please share.
We want this community to thrive, and the best way to do that is by spreading the word. Use the new web links to show your local groups what they are missing. When you share your activities and events externally, you aren’t just showing off your progress; you are helping support the app’s growth.
We are so grateful for every single one of you who rolls with us. Let’s boost into 2026 together, support each other, and make this a thriving year for skaters everywhere.
Let’s Roll!
— The Team ❤️
